Kitsilano Beauty Studio
Kitakar began in Kitsilano over 5 years ago, starting in a small room in the back of a salon and growing to our permanent home, a beautiful boutique studio centrally located on West 4th Avenue.
Our studio uses top-of-the-line products and equipment for all of the services we offer. We carry a variety of products, including specialized formula tints sourced from overseas, to create custom blended brow and lash tints that best suit your facial features.
Our brow processes rely heavily on creating a natural look for brows that frame your face. We achieve this by using what is called the ‘golden ratio’ in all of our brow services, mapping your perfect brow. We achieve the golden ratio by taking careful and precise measurements using thread, calipers, and rulers. When it comes to lash or brow services we are sure to keep detailed client files so adjustments can me made if desired for future appointments. We value client feedback and reach out after every visit to ensure your happiness.

When it comes to the services we provide, we’re non-rushed and absolute perfectionists. There’s no such thing as “good enough” to us! If things aren’t going perfectly we’ve been known to start from scratch to make sure you leave our studio feeling like the best version of yourself each and every time.

Our Keratin Lash Infusions and Brow Laminations use a premium line made in America that offer a gentle thio free product that actually enhances and promotes lash and brow health and growth. It’s heat activated vs chemically activated and can be used to ‘reverse’ damage from lower quality lash or brow services.
We're Professional
Hygiene is of the utmost importance to us at Kitakar, and we go above and beyond to ensure your safety. Masks and gloves are worn by your technician for every service. We use hospital grade disinfectants, and single-use implements, that are also biodegradable wherever possible. All of your tattooing needs are met using the highest quality individually packaged pre-sterilized needles.
About Sonia
For as long as I can remember, brows have been my passion!
Misadventures with tweezers as a teen meant hiding behind oversized sunglasses every time I had to run out without time to paint on my eyebrows. Between work and family commitments, coupled with being an active outdoor-loving Vancouverite I rarely have a spare moment to touch up my face. This led to countless hours (and money) spent searching for the perfect waterproof, sweat-proof, and long lasting solutions to my makeup woes.
I gained extensive knowledge about the treatment and care of skin and hair whilst training and working in Aesthetics and as a Colour Tech. In college I studied Art and Art history, which further developed my eye for detail. When I discovered cosmetic tattooing things just “clicked” into place. I want my clients to see and feel the beauty in the artistry and services I have to offer!
I am a perfectionist by nature, committed to continually evolving though education, honing my skills to bring you the best services catered to your individual needs. I have multiple certifications in each of the services I offer including cosmetic tattooing, lash treatments and brow services.
Kitakar was born so I could combine my knowledge and expertise to share with other women searching endlessly for empowering beauty solutions that simplify their unique lives and unique natural beauty.
